This year we are celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the link between Bristol and Tbilisi (Georgia), where I am from. I painted it in 2018 and dedicated to the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. There were three balloons on the painting from the beginning but I decided to leave just one showing individual life’s peaceful and quite voyage through the years.
I am happy to paint beautiful Bristol landscapes using bright deep colours, style and techniques, which are a little bit different from “the Western Art”. We live in a world of borders, restrictions, rules, and responsibility and I believe that my art can cause us to drop our guard and generate connections between people”, says Jemal.
